Pandemic Journal
A one-page comic about my experiences of the early pandemic.
Earbuds plugged into an iPhone wrap around the page, creating panel borders. Panel 1: Megan walks along a sidewalk lined with trees and bushes. Narration: At first, I loved the silence. It was like the whole world belonged to me. Panel 2: a blank purple background. Narration: But as the months crept on, it filled my head. Panel 3: Four versions of Megan overlap each other, facing different directions, all wearing earbuds. Narration: I became mechanical, always plugged in, just to keep it at bay. Panel 4: The iPhone screen is half-visible, playing “The Mask” by Matt Maeson. Narration: Anything to fill the silence.
